The Fleet

The current fleet comprises four (4) Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV) and two (2) Large Patrol Vessels (LPV). Each vessel is equipped with state of the art machinery, weapons, communication’s and navigation systems. The fleet will soon be augmented with two (2) Inshore Patrol Vessels (IPV), which will introduce new Electronic Warfare and intelligence gathering capabilities.

The Fleet

The NS Fleet keeps the tradition of naming its vessels after famous women from Irish and Celtic mythology and famous Irish writers, celebrating Ireland in the international forum.

The L.É. before the ships names means Long Éireannach or Irish Ship.
