Defence Forces Artillery Corps Centenary Event in Collins Bks, Cork

This Thursday, 01st June 2023, the Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Seán Clancy, will attend the centenary event of the Artillery Corps in Collins Barracks Cork.

To mark this hugely significant day in local Cork and Munster history, 1 Brigade Artillery Regiment and units from Collins Barracks, Cork, will commemorate the establishment of the Artillery Corps and its 100th year in service of the State, with a Ceremonial Event and capabilities display.

  1. 1130hrs: Ceremonial Parade forms up on Main Barrack Square. 
  2. 1200hrs: Ceremonial Event on Main Barrack Square to include an address by the Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Seán Clancy & General Officer Commanding 1 Brigade, Brigadier General Brian Cleary. This will be followed by prayers and a wreath-laying ceremony. 
  3. 1230hrs: Ceremonial Event ends. 
    Invited press are kindly asked to arrive at Collins Barracks at 1130 hrs on 1st June 2023. As parking is being allocated to school buses, there will be no parking of private vehicles in barracks.
