Brigadier General Kevin Campion is the Commander - Joint Task Force (JTF) in response to Ireland's COVID-19 threat.
Military Experience
Brig Gen Campion’s service has encompassed a wide range of command and staff appointments at Unit, Brigade and Defence Forces Headquarters level. He has commanded An Chéad Cathlán Coisithe (1 Infantry Battalion) and has served as School Commandant of the Infantry School and Director of Infantry.
Overseas Experience
Brig Gen Campion has served eight tours of duty overseas. This includes service in Syria (UNTSO), Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUC), Liberia (UNMIL) and Kosovo (KFOR). He has served four tours of duty in Lebanon (UNIFIL) including command of 45 Infantry Group.
Education
Brig Gen Campion is a graduate of the Irish Command and Staff School. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Galway. He holds a Masters degree in Leadership, Management and Defence Studies from National University of Ireland, Maynooth and a Masters Degree in International Relations from Dublin City University.
Personal
Brig Gen Campion is married to Eva. They have two sons and a daughter and live in County Galway. Brig Gen Campion enjoys reading, travel and a wide variety of sports
