60 Years Peacekeeping1958 - 2018

This year marks the 60th Anniversary of Ireland's first Peacekeeping deployment in 1958.

Since then, Ireland have maintained the longest unbroken service on the front line of peace with over 70,000 individual tours of duty completed by the men and women of Óglaigh na hÉireann.

This year, we remember the 87 members of the Defence Forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of Peace.

28 Aug 2015 - Army Bomb Disposal Team responds to call out in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

An Army Bomb Disposal Team deployed to an office building in Nenagh, Co Tipperary today following a request from An Garda Síochána.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team was called to deal with what is described as a letter containing suspicious material.

The EOD team arrived on scene at 12.40 pm and following an examination declared the letter and material a hoax. The scene was declared safe at 1.30 pm.
