The Defence Forces is now accepting applications for General Service in both the Army and Naval Service.

Army applicants must be at least 18 years old and under the age of 25 years of age on the closing date for applications.

Naval Service applicants must be at least 18 years old and under the age of 27 years of age on the closing date for applications.

Both Competitions will close on Sunday 22nd April 2018.

All visits from schools/clubs to Military Barracks are coordinated and sanctioned through the Department of Defence Property Management Office.

Please apply directly to: propertymanagement@defence.ie (Tel: 00 353 45 492463) where you will be provided with the necessary information to arrange your visit.

Requests for Defence Forces Personnel to visit Schools/Clubs or Local Events

All requests for Defence Forces personnel to visit schools for career/information talks or for Defence Forces personnel to participate in local events, must be sanctioned through the Department of Defence Community Support Office.

Please apply directly to communitysupport@defence.ie (Tel: 00353 505 25336) and they will provide you with the necessary information to arrange the visit.

The Badge Design

The Badge design (common to all Corps and Services and all orders of dress) is derived from the badge of the Irish Volunteers and was designed by Professor Eoin MacNeill, Chairman of the National Executive of the Irish Volunteers.
