60 Years Peacekeeping1958 - 2018

This year marks the 60th Anniversary of Ireland's first Peacekeeping deployment in 1958.

Since then, Ireland have maintained the longest unbroken service on the front line of peace with over 70,000 individual tours of duty completed by the men and women of Óglaigh na hÉireann.

This year, we remember the 87 members of the Defence Forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of Peace.

24th August 2017 - Irish Air Corps to host Emergency Aeromedical Service Family Day.

Earlier this year, the Irish Air Corps marked 5 years of the Emergency Aeromedical Service (EAS). In that time almost 3,000 patients have been assisted by our personnel.

To mark the occasion the Irish Air Corps, with the National Ambulance Service will hold a Family Day for the patients, and their families on the 25th of August 2017. This day is an opportunity for patients, their families and the Air Corps personnel to engage and reflect on their experiences together.

There will be aircraft displays, a Virtual Reality experience, barbecue, capability displays, children’s entertainment and much more. There will be excellent photographic opportunities with photographers afforded the opportunity to capture images of patients, families and the Air Corps personnel of the Emergency Aeromedical Service.
