The Irish Air Corps is recruiting qualified and experienced Air Traffic Controllers to join our team as Direct Entry Air Traffic Services Officers at Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel, Co. Dublin. You will receive specialised training to transition into the role of a military ATCO and become part of a highly skilled team, ensuring the safety and efficiency of air operations.
As an Air Traffic Control officer, you will be at the heart of the Air Corps’ flying output, responsible for directing and supporting military air operations and training within Ireland. In your role, you will:
- Control fixed and rotary-wing aircraft in military airspace as they support a number of different training and operational tasks.
- Control air traffic operating to, from and in the vicinity of Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel.
- Work alongside civilian controllers as a Military Radar controller in the Dublin ATC Centre, ensuring military aircraft can operate safely amongst civilian air traffic in Irish airspace.
Minimum Qualifications
- Be a citizen or Ireland or have a legal entitlement to reside and work in the State for the period of their commission.
- Undergo and pass an Initial Military aero-medical examination and a military fitness test.
- Be of good character and satisfy required security clearances.
- Be less than 50 years of age on 31 December.
For appointment at Lieutenant rank:
A candidate for a Direct Entry ATS Officer (Lieutenant) appointment must hold:
A valid Air Traffic Controller licence issued by a National Military Authority or a valid Air Traffic Controller licence issued in accordance with European Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340, Commission Regulation (EU) 805/2011 or Directive 2006/23/EC, containing:
Aerodrome Control Surveillance (ADC/SUR) or Aerodrome Control Instrument (ADI) rating endorsement, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience exercising this endorsement,
AND
An English Language Proficiency Certificate of at least Operational Level 4 or higher, issued in accordance with the requirements set out in point ATCO.B.030 to Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340 as applicable.
For appointment at Captain rank:
A candidate for a Direct Entry ATS Officer (Captain) appointment must hold:
A valid Air Traffic Controller license issued by a National Military Authority or a valid Air Traffic Controller licence issued in accordance with European Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340, Commission Regulation (EU) 805/2011 or Directive 2006/23/EC, containing:
Aerodrome Control Surveillance (ADC/SUR) or Aerodrome Control Instrument (ADI) rating endorsement, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience exercising this endorsement,
AND
An Approach Control Surveillance (APS) rating endorsement with a minimum of 3 years’ experience exercising this endorsement.
AND
An English Language Proficiency Certificate of at least Operational Level 4 or higher, issued in accordance with the requirements set out in point ATCO.B.030 to Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340, as applicable.
