Comóradh 1 bhliain ó chailliúint thragóideach an Pháirtí Seán Rooney ag DF

Preasráiteas – 1735 uair, Déardaoin 14 Nollaig 2023. Inniu, cuimhníonn Óglaigh na hÉireann ar bhás an Pháirtí Seán Rooney a maraíodh go tragóideach in Al-Aqbieh bliain ó shin agus é ag fónamh leis an 121ú Cathlán Coisithe in UNIFIL. Chuir baill den 123ú Cathlán Coisithe UNIFIL tús lena gcomóradh ar maidin le paráid chiúin ag an mbreacadh. Lean searmanas ag cuimhneachán Tibnine agus searmanas leagan fleasc i gCampa Shamrock (UNP 2-45) é seo.

Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Seán Clancy remembers Seán and his family in this difficult time.

'At this time of year we remember those who have gone before us and we feel their loss most acutely. Our thoughts are with the family of Private Seán Rooney who is still dearly missed by all his colleagues in Óglaigh na hÉireann. Seán's passing is a stark reminder of risks our personnel face when they don the uniform.'

Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam dhílis”.
