Defence Forces win Social Media Award.

The Defence Forces have won a category of the Bord Gais Energy Social Media Awards 2011.

The Award for best “Use of Social media by a State Body / Organisation” was presented to the Defence Forces at a ceremony in the Mansion House this evening.

The Defence Forces have been early adopters of Social Media as a means of communicating with the public, and now have a comprehensive online presence which encompasses facebook, flickr, twitter and youtube.
