Thursday 15 November 2012 - Naval Service Detain Fishing Vessel .
The Naval Service vessel L.É. EMER has detained an Irish registered fishing vessel approximately 19 nautical miles South East of Mine Head, Co. Waterford late yesterday evening.
The detention was in relation to alleged breaches of technical fishing regulations.
The vessel was escorted by the L.É. EMER to Cork and arrived in the early hours of this morning. The vessel was then handed over to the Gardaí.
The Naval Service have carried out 1236 boardings, issued 41 warnings and detained 17 vessels so far in 2012.
