Overseas Operations - UNHCR (Y)

Irish officers served on secondment with UNHCR (Y) in the former Yugoslavia. Their main function was as advisers in convoy movement. Aid convoys organised by UNHCR (Y) were operating in very difficult circumstances and it was felt that they would benefit from adopting military convoy procedures, hence the need for military personnel to advise them.
