United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan
Established in 1949, this long-standing observer mission operates on the India and Pakistan border. The mission's origins lie in a conflict between the two countries over the status of Jammu and Kashmir. Irish involvement consisted of two officers, both of whom served as the mission's Senior Military Observer.
