60 Years Peacekeeping1958 - 2018

This year marks the 60th Anniversary of Ireland's first Peacekeeping deployment in 1958.

Since then, Ireland have maintained the longest unbroken service on the front line of peace with over 70,000 individual tours of duty completed by the men and women of Óglaigh na hÉireann.

This year, we remember the 87 members of the Defence Forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of Peace.

Wednesday 18th May 2016 - Irish Troops Return to Dublin Airport.

The 51st Infantry Group, United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) will return to Terminal One, Dublin Airport tomorrow, 18th of May at 06:30am, following a six month deployment to Lebanon.

The returning personnel will be met by their families and friends. They are drawn primarily from the Army 2 Brigade, with personnel mainly from the Leinster Region.

There will be excellent photo opportunities at the airport with the returning troops of the 51st Infantry Group reuniting with their families.
