Wednesday 13 November - Naval Vessel LÉ Ciara Detains Irish Fishing Vessel.

The Naval Coastal Patrol Vessel, LÉ Ciara detained an Irish registered fishing vessel approximately twenty nautucal miles south of the Waterford Coast this afternoon.

The vessel was detained at 1pm for an alleged breach of fishing regulations, this detention is the twelfth detention made by the Naval Service this year following 901 boardings.  

The fishing vessel has now hauled its nets and is currently under escort by the LÉ Ciara to Cobh and is expected alongside at 6pm this evening. The vessel will then be handed over to the Gardaí­.
