Friday 30 October 2015 - Army Bomb Disposal Team conducts Post Blast Analysis.

An Army Bomb Disposal Team carried out a post blast analysis at the scene of an explosion in Dunlavin Co Wicklow early this morning.
 
The Defence Forces deployed the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team on request from An Garda Síochána, after an improvised explosive device detonated in a residential area damaging two vehicles.  A cordon was established until the scene was declared safe.
 
The EOD team arrived on scene at 5.50 am., conducted a search of area, carried out a post blast analysis and confirmed that the scene was safe to allow An Garda Síochána to commence a technical investigation. The scene was declared safe at 7 am.

Other types of call outs would include conventional munition destruction such as old grenades discovered by members of the public, unstable chemicals and also suspect devices found to be hoaxes.
