Army Bomb Disposal Team make safe viable Improvised Explosive Device in Clondalkin

An Army Bomb Disposal Team made safe a viable Improvised Explosive Device in Clondalkin this afternoon.

The Defence Forces deployed the team to an address at Rollagh Gardens, Ronanstown in response to a request by the Gardai.


The team arrived on scene at 11.50am and made the device safe without the need for a controlled explosion.

The scene was declared safe at 1.30pm, and the remains of the device were handed over to the Gardai for their investigations.

So far this year, Defence Forces Bomb Disposal Teams have been called out on 57 occasions, dealing with six (6) viable Improvised Explosive Devices.
