Army Bomb Disposal Teams make safe two viable Improvised Explosive Devices.

Army Bomb Disposal Teams have made safe two viable Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) overnight. The Defence Forces deployed teams to two separate callouts in Dublin and Limerick in response to requests by the Gardai.

In the first callout, the Defence Forces deployed a Bomb Disposal Team to an address on Loreto Road, Dublin 8.

The team arrived on scene at 2.15am this morning and made safe a viable IED. No controlled explosion was carried out, and the remains of the device were handed over to the Gardai for their investigations.

The scene was declared safe at 3.10am.

In the second callout, The Defence Forces deployed a Bomb Disposal Team to an address at Greenmount Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick.

The team arrived on scene at 3.15am this morning and made safe a viable IED.

No controlled explosion was carried out, and the remains of the device were handed over to the Gardai for their investigations.

The scene was declared safe at 5.00am.
