60 Years Peacekeeping1958 - 2018

This year marks the 60th Anniversary of Ireland's first Peacekeeping deployment in 1958.

Since then, Ireland have maintained the longest unbroken service on the front line of peace with over 70,000 individual tours of duty completed by the men and women of Óglaigh na hÉireann.

This year, we remember the 87 members of the Defence Forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of Peace.

Air Corps complete transatlantic Air Ambulance operation.

The Air Corps transported a patient from Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel, to Logan International Airport, Boston, in a transatlantic Air Ambulance operation this evening.

The Gulfstream IV departed Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel at 10.40am this morning with the patient, the patients family and a specialist HSE team on board.

The aircraft arrived in Boston at 5.50pm, Irish time, from where the patient will complete their journey by ambulance to a Boston Hospital.

This is the Air Corp's 65th Air Ambulance mission this year.
