60 Years Peacekeeping1958 - 2018

This year marks the 60th Anniversary of Ireland's first Peacekeeping deployment in 1958.

Since then, Ireland have maintained the longest unbroken service on the front line of peace with over 70,000 individual tours of duty completed by the men and women of Óglaigh na hÉireann.

This year, we remember the 87 members of the Defence Forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of Peace.

Air Corps Complete Fourth Air Ambulance Mission this week.

The Air Corps have completed the transfer of a patient from the UK to Ireland this afternoon, the fourth Air Ambulance mission completed by the Air Corps this week.

The Air Corps Learjet departed Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel for RAF Northolt at 12.40pm on request of the HSE Ambulance controller.

The patient was transferred by road from a London hospital to RAF Northolt and from there to Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel landing at 3.35pm.

This is the 59th Air Ambulance mission carried out by the Air Corps so far this year.
