6 July 2016 - Defence Forces Open Day, Farmleigh House, Sunday 10th of July 2016, 11 am - 5 pm.

The Defence Forces Open Day will take place in Farmleigh House this Sunday the 10th of July from 11 am to 5 pm. Highlights will include career stands, weapons displays, a parachute insertion, unarmed combat demonstrations, capability demonstrations from the Army, Air Corps & Naval Service, vintage vehicles, Army brass and pipe band recitals, field cooking and a Cavalry motorbike escort.

Military Archives, the primary custodians of historical material from the revolutionary period, will also be on site to offer guidance to people who may wish to research their own family's military history.

Serving members, veterans and all members of the public are encouraged to attend, with excellent photographic and interview opportunities throughout.

Farmleigh is a short walk from both the Phoenix Park and Castleknock Village and is served by bus routes. Travel guidance is available here.
