12 Mar 2016 - Army Bomb Disposal Team Made Safe IED.

This morning the Army Bomb Disposal Team made safe a viable Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Finglas.

Gardaí Síochána requested assistance after a suspect device was found during a planned search of a private residence in the Deanstown area of Finglas. The Army Bomb Disposal team arrived on scene at 10 am.

The device was assessed to be viable and has been removed to a safe military location for deconstruction. Items of an evidential nature will be handed over to the Gardaí to assist them with their investigation.

Scene was declared safe at 10.30 am.

Other types of call outs would include conventional munition destruction such as old grenades discovered by members of the public, unstable chemicals and also suspect devices found to be hoaxes.
