Defence Forces is committed to providing information and services that are fully accessible to all. The site is designed in accordance with the W3C WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and conforms to most priority 1 and 2 checkpoints. A list of outstanding issues is set out below.

The site is designed in accordance with priority 1, and 2 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and the Irish National Disability Authority Guidelines for Web Accessibility. For example, the website uses cascading style sheets for visual layout. This ensures that content is perfectly linearised and improves performance on a wide range of browsers and other user agents.

Pages are designed to validate as DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional. There are a number of remaining validation errors, but work is ongoing to fix these.

Using TAB key to jump between links

This site has been developed so that you can use the tab key on your keyboard to jump from one link to another. All navigation and menus are in logical order to allow for this.
