DFTC Military Police Company
Military Police Company, Defence Forces Training Centre, has an operational area of responsibility consisting of the CURRAGH CAMP, its immediate environs and COOLMONEY CAMP in the Glen of Imaal. The mission of MP Coy DFTC is to provide provost, investigation and liaison support to General Officer Commanding Defence Forces Training Centre.

- Investigation section
- Military Detention Facility
- Headquarters element
Provost platoon
The provost platoon is the backbone of the unit and is responsible for providing and manning a MP Station which conducts 24 hour patrol of CURRAGH CAMP both mobile and foot. This section Provide Gate Security when required and also conducts access control checks at points of entry to CURRAGH CAMP. Members of this section investigate all RTAs, they are responsible for providing support for Military Ceremonial occasions, Defence Forces sporting events and Military Exercises. They police the Glen of Imaal and Coolmoney Camp and provide crime prevention surveys in conjunction with the investigation section. They provide liaison with the Gardai, Curragh Maor, Kildare County Council and other Military police units.
Investigation section
The units Investigation Section investigates crime, serious breaches of discipline and other incidents warranting investigation. The liaise with Provost Marshal’s Office, other MP units and Gardai. This section is responsible for criminal intelligence and collating and conducting crime prevention surveys with Pro Pl. The staff also delivers lectures, briefings and advice on drug awareness and crime prevention to all units of the DFTC.
Military Detention Facility and Headquarters element
The Military Detention Facility section is headed by a military Governor who is responsible for the administration and detention of detainees they also maintain liaison with Governor of Civilian Prison and provides advice and training when required to other MP units on control and administration of Detained Personnel.
