Troop Carrying Vehicles

The Defence Forces utilise a variety of trucks in the Troop Transport role. These trucks can transport 20 fully equipped soldiers on four folding/removable bench seats configured back to back (troops facing outwards). Designed with rugged terrain in mind, these vehicles have a wading depth of 0.74 metres.

Although not suited for the battlefield (due to the absence of armour), they are faster and more cost effective to operate than Armoured Personnel carriers and are perfectly suited to operations behind the front lines and during peace time operations.

The latest additions to the troop transport fleet are loadcarrying vehicles that can be modified in the field to carry either a standard 20’ ISO container or troops.
